The Skin Shop offers a wide range of products, including the wildly popular BB Cream. One of my favourites to give as a gift is Saffron Real Massage cream, great after a workout at the gym! Ladies truly love The Ultimate Solution in artistic skin make-up by The Skin Shop. My friend Saki Tumi favours Lavendar Hand Cream, which includes Chamomile and Shea Butter among its ingredients.

Today the buzz is all about The Skin Shop! The extensive line of cutting-edge beauty products (too numerous be included all in one post) have emerged as "cosmetics of choice" across Asia! (Check 'em out on facebook!)

Enhanced beauty through cosmetics dates back over four thousand years to North Africa. The culture usually associated with the use of innovative beauty aids is that of ancient Egypt. Good looks and personal hygeine were very important to the Egyptian people. They believed that physical appearance had a direct juncture with the well being of the spirit. They attempted to always appear neat, and smell agreeable.

The quest for enhanced beauty continued down through the ages. The very idea "BEAUTY" has evolved over time to include women and men of all shapes, sizes and skin colours.

Want to see proof that The Skin Shop products ehance beauty? Have you seen the beautiful Skin Shop models?

Cuckoo Clock: Add Old World Charm To Your Home!

Sunday, April 10, 2011 0 comments
In the latter half of the 20th Century, Cuckoo clocks could be found hanging on walls in homes on every street in North America. These fascinating devices, said to have originated in the black Forest of Germany during the late 1600s, lent a touch of old world charm to the European and North American living rooms and parlors they were displayed in. Craftsmen put hours and hours into the mechanics and housing. Like everything else these days, what was then relatively inexpensive is the opposite now and very difficult to find in excellent condition.

Coincidentally, just last week a colleague and I at work were discussing Cuckoo clocks. He was smitten after losing out on a bid for one on ebay. I told him that I would rather buy a new one if I were looking to make a purchase, rather than get one from an auction-style website such as ebay or half, where the clock might be old and its workings "iffy." It's always a drag when something you buy on one of those sites doesn't live up to expectations!

Still thinking about Cuckoo clocks hours later, remembering the soft sounds of the "tick-tock" and the gentle hourly and half-hourly "call of the cuckoo," I went out on the net and found SINIX, and it was love at first sight:

SINIX World Class Wall ClockIn 1998, the SINIX Corporation was established. The specialized wall clock manufacturer buildt cuckoo clocks, which today are in high demand all round the globe! If you are one of those people who are looking back longingly on simpler times and memories of yesteryear, here's your opportunity to re-connect with something you may have thought you'd never see or hear again!
from WikiPedia: "In 1669 Domenico Martinelli, in his handbook on elementary clocks "Horologi Elementari", suggests using the call of the cuckoo to indicate the hours. Starting at that time the mechanism of the cuckoo clock was known. Any mechanic or clockmaker, who could read Latin or Italian, knew after reading the books that it was feasible to have the cuckoo announce the hours."
SINIX Corp. hasn't limited its product line to high-quality cuckoo clocks: remember those old "Grandfather" clocks, usually holdovers form the early 20th Century? The awesome clocks wer handed down genereation-to-generation, but many were sold when young families exited to the suburbs during the 1960s, many were scrapped, others stripped and sold for parts. SINIX actually builds more than 300 varieties of clocks, ranging from the Grandfather and 15 distinct types of Cuckoo cloks to those of the modern digital variety! (You may have even seen a SINIX high quality water proof wall clock hanging in a sauna or swimming pool!)
